Hello,
Yet again the children have worked very hard this week and continued to impress me with their attitudes to learning.

In literacy we have continued to hook with the book ‘Toby and the Great fire’. The children wrote their own speech bubbles for the characters at a specific point in the story. They then used their senses; see, hear, smell, touch and feel to describe what it would be like to be Toby during the Great Fire. This is in preparation for the childrens independent big write next week, where they will be writing an eye witness account as Toby.

In maths we have been using a number line to solve subtraction. All the children grasped this method, however I was really impressed with Hamza and Xavier! Along side this, the children have all worked hard completing their weekly maths jobs. The children are all becoming very independent in their learning through the jobs which is great to see.

As part of our London’s Burning topic in Art we made some fantastic artwork using paint and layering to create the London skyline during the great fire…pictures to follow.

Our star of the week is Rayhan for trying hard and making fantastic progress in his reading.

Please continue to keep reading at home with your children whenever possible and practicing spellings. Please also make sure children bring book bags every day; PE kits MUST be in school on a Monday; spelling test is on a Thursday and library books are to be returned on a Thursday.

Hope your enjoying a lovely weekend!

Miss Cooke
