We have had a great last week of the spring term in Year 1, which finished with a lovely Easter Service.
We have been very busy this week doing end of term science topic assessments, reading assessments and phonics assessment. I have been so proud of how hard the children have tried.
This week in maths we have been focusing on finding halves, quarters and even thirds of numbers. The children really grasped the method of splitting into equal amounts. Today we carried out a data handling investigation to find out the most popular choice of Easter eggs amongst children and staff. The children recorded their findings in a bar chart. They then used their bar charts to see which Easter eggs were the most and least popular.
Thank you to all those parents who came to parents evenings. It was great to talk to so many of you!
Please continue to keep reading at home with your children whenever possible; accessing Reading Eggs and Mathletics and practicing spellings and words in preparation for the Year 1 phonics screening test.
I hope you have a great Easter break!
